Our antifouling systems were originally developed by Shell at their Thornton Research Centre who, after almost a decade of research, commercialised them under the trademark Aquasign®.  

Aquasign® is a non-toxic marking system whose unique surface properties are integral to the anti-fouling performance.  The marker face is hydrophobic with a surface energy that can prevent settlement at the lowest level of fouling.  

Additionally, the markers secrete a harmless proprietary oil which slowly exudes to the surface constantly renewing it and thus enhancing the non-fouling properties already intrinsic to the material.
